ICAI Motto

ICAI Motto – Ranchi Branch

"Ya Aeshu Suptaeshu Jagruti"

A timeless Sanskrit mantra that inspires excellence, awareness, and ethical responsibility.

The official motto of ICAI, derived from the Upanishads, means:

"A person who is awake in those that sleep."

The ICAI motto, "Ya Aeshu Suptaeshu Jagruti", is derived from the Kathopanishad, one of the ancient Indian scriptures that delve into the philosophy of life and consciousness. Translated as "The one who is awake in those that sleep," this line refers to an enlightened individual who remains aware, alert, and conscious even when others are oblivious to the deeper truths of life. For Chartered Accountants, this embodies a profound responsibility  to remain vigilant and morally upright, ensuring transparency and integrity in financial systems, even when faced with complexity or apathy around them.

At the Ranchi Branch of ICAI, this motto is a guiding principle. It represents not only intellectual alertness but also a strong ethical compass. It inspires professionals to lead with courage, act with wisdom, and uphold public trust. In every audit conducted, every compliance reviewed, and every student mentored, the spirit of this motto echoes  reminding us that a true professional does not merely follow the rules but stands awake to the larger purpose of honesty, service, and societal welfare.
